Ready, Set Go

The first segment

sunny 10 °C

Ready to go and the internet says the border wait is 45 minutes. That's okay, it is a beautiful sunny day, the house is clean and we are packed. It turns out the border wait is more like 20 minutes. This is the first time we have crossed the Peace Arch since they added the anti Idling policy. It works quite well. We sit for about five minutes, move ahead, sit for five then we are passed the stop light and into the short lines leading up to the border. There are seven open and things go fast.
We make a pit stop across the border, then Roger needs lunch. Except for a slow down right in Seattle things sail along. One thing I notice are the drivers are more aggressive through Seattle, they don't move over or make a space to let people merge. I guess if I drove that traffic all the time I might do the same...or not.
We are in Tacoma, Roger is picking up some wine for the cruise and after a bite to eat we are off to the airport for an 11:30 flight through to Dallas/Fort Worth and then on to Ft. Lauderdale where the temps is in the high eighties F. A bit of a jump from 10 C.
